Volunteer Opportunities: McCoy Hooding Ceremony
The McCoy Hooding Ceremony for spring and summer graduates will be Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 2pm in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom. Like all professionally produced events, the Hooding Ceremony requires some work behind the scenes. We are seeking student volunteers for the ceremony. No heavy-lifting, we promise! Added bonus: you can earn one (1) PDU per shift that you sign up for. Details here: bit.ly/hoodingvolunteer
MGSA Leadership Opportunities
The McCoy Graduate Student Association (MGSA) is a student-led organization dedicated to enhancing the social and professional development aspects of the graduate programs outside of the classroom. Officer and event chair positions become available regularly as students graduate so if you are interested in helping your fellow students connect while developing your own organizational and leadership skills please consider applying. For additional information contact MGSA President Jaclyn Ramirez, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Goodbye MBSA, Hello MGSA!
Many years ago our official student organization was chartered as the Graduate Business Student Association. At some point that name changed to the McCoy MBA Student Association (MBASA). In doing this the organization became more focused, but also excluded other McCoy graduate students in our accounting and HR programs. We have come full-circle and are glad to announce that the “MBASA” is no more; we are now the McCoy Graduate Student Association (“MGSA”). With approximately 400 total graduate students here at McCoy our intent is to open up social and professional development events to MAcy, MSAIT and MSHRM students in addition to our Full-Time Cohort and Flex MBA students in both Round Rock and San Marcos.
